Do you want, deep in your heart, Real Success? – the kind of success that has you catch your breath, smile big and just about say, “It’s a miracle.” Randy Gage, author of the new, sensational book Mad Genius: A Manifesto for Entrepreneurs, points out that it’s important to open your thoughts for “a big idea or theme that pulls everything together.”

One thing that I appreciate about Gage’s writing is that he gets straight to the point and shakes things up. We entrepreneurs don’t have time for the repeat of the usual positive thinking/this is how you market slogans.

On page 19, Gage writes:

“Mad Genius starts with a decision. The decision to tap your genius is about thinking in new and different ways. It happens when you refuse to accept no and decide to find a way. Even when there isn’t a way.”

On page 115, Gage emphasizes: “When you know how to solve problems, you know how to create wealth. And when you know how to see and act on possibilities then you know how to create disproportionate wealth.” He points out that Steve Jobs “envisioned a possibility (the iPad) for something that, once people were exposed to it, they simply had to have.”

On page 125, Gage reports: “The optimal state for you is what scientists call whole brain synchronicity, in which you have thoughts going back and forth, creating neural pathways between the right and left hemispheres of your brain.” He advises that we stop categorizing ourselves as left-brain dominant or right-brain dominant. We need to expand our perceptions and thinking.

As an entrepreneur and CEO leading teams in the United Kingdom, India and the USA, I appreciate Gage’s insights and coaching to think bigger.

On pages 134-136, Gage provides a vivid example in which bureaucratic red tape caused one of his deals to go upside down. He concludes: “You can’t do business with small minded people … If you ever find yourself in this situation, the smart move is to cut your losses and move on.”

Randy Gage seeks to shake you up and get you to realize that “if you want to really unleash your Mad Genius, you have to be willing to question any and all core foundational beliefs you have … It’s all about critical thinking, to make sure your beliefs are based on correct premises.”

Gage emphasizes: “Don’t be worried about the doubters, cynics, or haters. Be worried if you don have any. And know this: The haters don’t really hate you. They hate themselves because they don’t have the guts to do what you’re doing.”

For all of us entrepreneurs, it’s vital that we drill down and focus on the critical few and stop allowing ourselves to be distracted by the noise. As an Executive Coach and Spoken Word Strategist, my job is to help leaders and business owners reach and at times exceed their potential for higher levels of success and even happiness. This gives me a real appreciation for what Randy Gage’s book accomplishes.

Randy Gage’s book, Mad Genius: A Manifesto for Entrepreneurs will help you think more expansively and to raise your game. You have the potential to live your best life as an entrepreneur.

It is my joy to recommend this book to you.

Warmly,

Tom
